A good friend of mine is a tech at a chrysler dealer and he had some schooling and the engeneer at the school was telling him that in 07 the cab and chassies will have a 6. 7 cummins and in late 07 the regular trucks will have them under the hood too. He said like 350hp and 700fpt??? Has any one else heard this????? Justin

A few weeks ago, I ran into an old friend of mine who works for a company that tests new production vehicles etc. and thats what he was telling me, about the new 6. 7litre ctd. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I've heard that. There have also been rumors of Cummins developing a V8 for Dodge. While the 6. 7 would be very nice, I would hope Dodge and Cummins don't do the V8 thing. Why play a game where you're third out ya know? It seems to me that if Dodge/Cummins REALLY (which they have a way of doing!) wanted to stir things up with a new engine design other than an inline 6, they'd build a V12 of about the same displacement. It would be ultra smooth, more powerful with a wider spread of horsepower and torque and would sound AWESOME! Those Powerstrokes and D'maxes just sound sick by comparison!

I would think Dodge/Cummins would stick with a inline six, just because that is one of there claims to fame. 30% fewer moving parts than the competition. Less parts is less to brake.

If you read THIS article, you will know the story on the 6. 7 CTD. There is NO information on the 2500 or 3500 trucks at this time!
