I have just installed 33" tires and I am not sure if it is a coincidence or not but now if I am driving at about 45 mph with no load and on a flat road, the engine RPMs jump from 1500 to 1800 and back. Are the larger tire diameter cause problems with the shifting point or should I be looking for something else? I have a '96 2500 4x4.

Next question, is there a programmer that will allow you to adjust the shifting points for this year Dodge? Everything that I find is for 97 or newer.

Thanx for your help.

I don't consider 33s "large tires" but it could be putting your truck on the border line of where the torque converter locks up. If you drive a lot at that speed, just lock it out of OD. That should fix it.
