Bigger tires

Looking for some advice on fitting bigger tires. Have a 2012 Ram 3500 srw and I would like to take the stock tires off and put on 35x12. 5x17 on the stock wheels. I put on my buddy's 35" mickey thompsons and they rub on both the upper and lower control arms when turning hard either way. Are wheel spacers a bad idea? Anyone running 35's on a 2010-2012 ram? I have seen some pictures in magazines with 4th gen rams running 35's but I don't know what they have modified to get them to fit.

Wheel spacers will make them hit the fenders. A little rubbing on the arms at full lock won't hurt anything
