Bigger Trailer Tires

I am changing the wheels on my trailer from 15" to 16" and I want taller E rated tires.



I currently have 225/75-15 and was looking at either 245/75-16 BFG AT 235/85-16 BFG AT. I have looked at other Wildcats with the 235/85-16 tires and there is only 1" TO 1-1/2" in between the front & rear tires.



How much of a space is necessary between the front & rear tires? I don't want to rub the front tire on the rear tire, but with my 315's on my truck, the trailer needs to go up a little.

1-1. 5" should be fine. We have some heavy equipment trailers with this clearance and have had no problems.

I needed to make my 5er a little taller. I went from 15 inch rims to 16 inch rims. The tire size is 235/85/16 load range E and the trailer handles so much better.
