My stock tires are ready to be replaced at 26K, I am looking for the largest best wearing load range "E" tires availible that will fit the 17" stock wheels, anybody have any idea's ? its a dually and I don't want to hurt the turning radius either.

WELL, Scott, I changed the rear tires on my '02 over to TOYO 285 M55's purely for winter traction in ice and snow - the OEM Michelins still had usable tread left, but I reluctantly let them go. The original fronts now have over 50K miles, and look to be good for another 20K or so - and when they DO give out, I'll likely be looking for 285 Michelins to replace them (the OEM's are 265's) - in an E rating - haven't checked, but hope they are available from Michelin...

I will look into the Mechelins right now I have General Ameritrac 235 / 80 R17's on the truck I am thinking there OEM. Do you think I will have any clearance issues with the 285's ?

Thanks,

BBD

Scott, notice that Gary has one of those single wheel wannabes!:-laf I put Michelins LTX/MS's on my '03 75k miles ago and pull real heavy 90% of the time. Tires look like they just went on!:) No way in heck 285's will work on stock dually wheels.

The OEM Michelins I referred to are 265's ( I SWITCHED the rears to 285's) - if that makes a difference - and it appears Michelin doesn't offer 285's in ANY load rating, at least in my '02 wheel size, so looks like I'm outta luck there... :{

I have had good success with my Mastercraft summer tires. These are made by Cooper and I have 50k on them. Cheaper price than Michelin. And yes, my truck is an 03 dually. Good luck!!
