What is the biggest tire that will fit a 96 1500 gasser, Reg cab Short bed 4x4. I have seen 33x12. 50/15 on a 99 with little rub. Any feed back will help. THANKS!!

I guess there are no other half ton owners. :{ :{

Going to go with a 285/75/16 on stock rims!!

The largest I got under my 94 was a 285x75r16... and it rubbed a tad... stock wheels.

I think generally you need a leveling kit to fit 35s, and then they rub, even on offset wheels.

After doing a bunch of checking around, that size is also what I came up with. I was told it may be cheaper to buy 15 inch rims and tires than it was to buy just 285/75/16. I will do some checking around and go from there. Thanks for the reply!!

I had a 95 1/2 ton with the same 285/75/16 Bf's and they rubbed the lower trailing arm a bit at full turn but if it was off road it would really catch it was worse, I just bent the lip of the arm down a bit where it rubbed and problem was solved. It would really grind the lugs of the tires hard going forward, it actually hooked a lug hard and tore a chunk out while backing up, and after that is when I custom bent the lips down. also on stock wheels.

Thanks a ton Billvo and Steved. By the looks of things in our country, Pres. Bush might be paying(with my money) for a set of 285/75/16 tires with that potential $600. 00 tax incentive kick back. Maybe my wife will give me her share for more goodies. :-laf :-laf

New tires are next for that toy!! :D
