TDR #38 observations...

Just some pics of the truck coming back together

I don't know, but it seems like a good idea for a ricer.

Like the way the outlet tube is held together with electrical tape. In fact when I look at it closer it a appears to be a miniature garbage disposer.

It's amazing what people will try.

on occasion the fan may break a simple screen could help by catching particles of the fan before they get to your engine the owner of the web site does not take any responsibility for using this blower as a modifying tool install at your own risk thanks

Yeah and all affects are negated by putting a flow resticting screen in to catch the broken wannabe go fast part.

nickleinonen,

I agree that these (from ebay) are a joke, but at the same time, legitimate electric supercharging is in our future. The higher operating voltage cars and trucks (eg, 42V) that are coming will allow the use of a centrifugal compressor (like that of a traditional turbocharger) to be driven at variable speeds via an electric motor. This, in combination with camless electronically controlled valve actuation, will provide some of the broadest performance maps we have ever seen.

well actually i have done that LOL

except mine was on a jetski hull and actually worked. for a while my friends and I were really big into the PWC's I had one of these blowers on the fresh air inlet on the thing and had the rest of the engine bay sealed off. to include a flapper valve that would snap shut when the fan was turned on. i could actually pressurize my engine bay to 3PSI. on a reed valved, fully ported crankcase, port timed sleeved, notched pistoned little two stroke, it made a difference. you could feel the boost when turning it on and off. i picked up 3MPH on the top end with it.

I also had a self fabricated variable geometry nozzle, hogged out water box, bipassed water outlets and a custom bent multiangled impeller(for my infamous neck snapping holeshots).

we had a speed shoot out on the river each year for charity and i ran 57-59MPH in three runs with a 701CC Yamaha Wave Blaster :D

I still have that little guy kickin around the barn... i need to get it out and stir the water in my pond a bit :D
