Angery CAT... Kitten has claws.

It's the school's newest bus. Cat C7 equipped. I hate to say it, but hope this engine is more reliable than the ISB's we are relying upon :(

This turbo reminds me of Bills.

Turbine housing looks the same. The compressor housing is bolted to the center section not like this one with the big clamp. Although I wonder if that could be changed? Cause it looks like my c housing could have started life like that, had the smooth outlet cut off and a machined flange style outlet welded on.

No I don't like the pycho colors, sicko LOL. errrr... . Need to see what AR the turbine housing is. Might be a good one for upgrade on a wimpy auto 1st gen ;). .

Dont get your hopes up. The HEUI pump is a little better than the old 3126E models. They went from a fixed displacement pump to a variable displacement pump (variable actuation pressures at any RPM). The KAL branded C7's had trouble with the check valves in the HEUI pump breaking springs. On the serial number SAP engines, they started putting fuel pressure sensors on the back of the head which is good.

The biggest problems I have seen with them are the injectors on them going bad as well as the C9's.

i drive a school bus and I was wondering what some of the Thomas's had in them. Some of em have Cummins', but the others have cat's. What model cat are those and how big are they?

We have only one CAT. The modern version of 3126. What size it it? The number tells you but you have to have the German Enigma decoder. The "6" means six cylinder. It's a total package of 7. 2L or 440 in.

All our Thomas are Cummins 12 valves. They now offer Mercadies. Did I spell that right? Never was good at spelling out girl names. Thomas is owned by Frieghtliner, owned by DC.

LOL, close enough, we'll call it good.

On a side note, looks like Cummins is making a comeback with Freightliner. They are now offering the ISB, ISC and possibly the ISL in the M2 trucks. I had heard about this for at least a year but never seen any come through the shop until Monday, 3 new M2's with ISC's scheduled for delivery to a transport company.
