Best Overheard Conversation at Muncie!

BURNOUT CONTEST! Canfield Ohio

10 minutes after meeting Bill and his family in the parking lot at Muncie I had to roll.

I jumped in, as did Sheryl, and much to my happiness, I noticed Bill was standing NEXT TO THE EXHAUST PIPE!,

Still talking to several people.

Silly auto guy!

HELLO full throttle start up!

As the smoke cleared, I noticed Bill waiving I was "#1"

Simple pleasures make life better!

:D :D

..... or was he merely pointing out how many friends you have?

:D:D:D:D

either way, Bill is number 1 in my book!

AHHA!!!!!

I asked your Dad about building the sled pullers an auto and he said we were "boring"!

Too many varibles to get an auto to work properly, he said. Or maybe not enough money in it. Not too many sled pullers looking to switch to an auto, although I have been considering it. Great. One. Hardly worth the R&D.

So, I guess we are right back to the trial and error clutches.

The Duramax was in a different class. I let off because it was slipping, I wonder how far it would 've went if i'd just kept it matted?

The point is, Bill should know better than to stand beside a exhaust pipe of any Smoker, let alone mine!:D

BTW Stefan, who and what won the dragrace?

A stock 5 speed was it not? LOL! A beat up old farm truck!

Another automatic man I see. I think there is a conspiracy here!:p

And this is exactly why other Diesel sites are really rolling now. Nobody can post anything the slightest bit funny without stirring up the PC boys.

Laugh a little fellas, your blood pressure will go down.

Oh, gosh, I'd better report this thread, someone called me an idiot. A step for once, you could be a bit more creative.

Don't smoke a fellow Rammer, but the Ford guys are OK, is that what your telling me?

Fair warning:stand by my pipe, you will be smoked. I have as much respect for Bill as any other man, I don't hold his automatic against him.

Anyone who has a problem with this thread, please give me a call, 800-376-9797

It's only soot which deserves 2#ad
hehehe

No it's not ok to smoke the Ford boys either, but if it's a Chevy have at it. :D

MGM,

Man at least you only got called an idiot, at least they didnt call you the village idiot or some of the really special names they reserve for me, and most of them i cant repeat in public (lol)

As for the black smoke stick boy, dont you worry, i dont get mad, i get even. Lets just say i owe you one. I will be back next year.

Seriously though , Shanti, Stefan, John,Linda & I had a great time, man you guys have the best restaurant , that Texas roadhouse where you can throw all your peanut shells on the floor and table, try doing that in Canada and see what happens to ya.

PS

Hey i wasnt offended, i just did the politically correct thing to do, you know how i am about the correct protocol. Seriously though, it was very nice to meet you and your wife and the other guys too.

Bill

Glad you had a good time Bill! I sent out a few #1's myself that weekend! #ad
Of course all of them were meant jokingly (if anyone was on the receiving end and didn't take it that way I'm sorry). For you guys that weren't at the event, anyone that didn't expect a little soot on their clothes or truck that weekend didn't know what they were in for - it could've happened even if noone meant to! This was not a sunday driver kinda weekend! :D

#ad

It was great meeting you guys (Bill, Shanti, Stefan, et al) - even if you do have auto's on the brain! Before you even say it, my performance that weekend sucked - no excuses, we'll see in the future! :D Seriously - our guys PARTY hard but we work hard too AND we also support our communities. On friday night we did a cruise to help support abused children and nearly everyone made a donation in addition to showing their trucks there. Diesel-central.com made an $1100 contribution I believe! Thanks ALL!

From the pictures I've seen, the track official at Muncie Dragway ate more than his share of soot. Did that guy salute every truck that went down the track? :)

I would call you a goat, but I think someone already called you that on another thread LOL!

Glad to see you still have a sense of humor Bill!

Nice thing about the dyno was the vendors got blasted with the smoke every time, and the trees held it in, it didn't blow away, it just settled in!LOL
