I would'nt think a updated input shaft would be needed for 450hp. I was running a set of 275 injectors with my Edge comp and never had any trouble with my DTT. I actually had 433,000+ miles on my auto and it was never rebuilt. The DTT installer only put in a 2nd gear band when I had my DTT in upgrade installed at 281,000 miles. If your gonna be pulling alot go with the 87% TC and if not the 93%. But then your best bet is to call Bill. He's a great guy.

I put all of that into my trans. The shafts extra this extra that. . I could have bought another used car with what I spent. But, When my truck broke the trans, and sat for a month in half while this was being built, I wished I had built it right the first time. I had spent about $2,300. 00 the first time and then had to start all over again. . I wasted money till I just had it built once, and built right. It's not cheap to play, but don't try and save money on drive line parts. And if you do? Put the money aside for a Tow Truck and Bus.

that Bill is a great guy, but i wanted to hear from the TDR who have (been there done that!) to get a real world test and what everyone's running !

Thanks

Scott

Bill just did my truck. 2001. 5 with 30K on the clock. I got the billet input and 3 rd gear cage. Reason for the billet input = I am going to put an exhaust brake on it next week, and have DTT smart controller installed. With the smart controller it will make shifts with the TC locked, thus the need for the billet input. The billet 3rd gear stuff I did because I was already in there for a few thousand bucks, so lets finish the job correctly. I went with the 89H TC.

All I can say after a couple days of driving around with it, is this is the way Dodge should have built the truck to start with. The rubber band feeling between the go peddle and the rear wheels is gone. Well I guess test driving a new truck at the dealer with firm shifts might be an issue for some. I will be towing tomorrow for the first time. Say turned. I had them install a Edge Comp (without the injector pump wire) and stage one injectors at the same time. With exhaust and intake already done, truck runs great.

I already have DSS installed and will be doing the 2003 track bar conversion in the next couple weeks. I was looking at 2004. 5's and 2005's and was going to be on the plus side of 20K to trade up, so putting 8k in this truck is no that bad. SNOKING

Found DTT Trans shop in Toronto

well, i call Bill @ DTT and i found a shop here just outside of Toronto

and to do it it is going to be :--) $6,000 :--) :{ :{ and thats just a rebuild with Valve body and TC and B/ input shaft! i said :--) :--) :--) :--)

i think i'll start walking to work :-laf

I would upgrade both input and output shafts to billet. I just broke my output shaft. My truck Dyno's around 400 hp and 800 tq. Now i'm upgradeing my output to billet.

For that price you must be billet all the way. You could get by with just a input if you need too. But get the input for sure. I have even broke a early billet input shaft. It made a terrible mess.

I don't really think that the bilet is needed unless your racing or you have an exhaust brake. I have a 91% TC and absolutly love it, as does Bob Wagner, and Jim Fulmer. After driving trucks with 89%R's, I will stick with my 91%!!!
