I got my truck out of the shop last night and drove it around town and did some testing. All I can say is WOW. It hooks up and drives right off of idle. With wide open throttle from a dead stop I am getting 750-800 rpm drop with every shift at 2900 rpm.
I will need to take it back to the shop to have the shift cable moved so my shift points are at 3000-3200 rpm as bill states in the directions he sends. The truck is much stronger off of the bottom in town and now when you need to shoot across the street from a dead stop you touch the pedal and boom you are gone no long time 2000 rpm spool up with no movement. It is awesome! feels like a whole different truck MUCH MORE DRIVABLE than before. Feels like I gained 50 HP (I probably did due to TC inefficiency)

I would recommend this to anyone with an auto before doing any power upgrades at all. (In my opinion) It is simply AWESOME.
THANKS BILL FOR SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!

HOV... That's great to hear. I drove Bill's truck at the transmission seminar in San Jose
a couple of weeks ago and immediately decided I needed to dump my brand new BD converter and valve body and install Bill's. I am driving up to Canada for the installation in October. I'm sure there will be much more discussion on this board about this dynamic break through... Arlan

I would contact Bill himself at DTT for the current price and remember that you get money back for the core returns as well . I asked Bill the same question abut a shop to do the job and when I told him I was concerened about finding a good shop he called the shops in my home town and found an ATRA certified shop and talked to the owner himself to find out if he trusted him to do the work. I would think he would do the same for you as well.
Good luck and take my word for it AWESOME!

het AZGEARPRO, can you post your findings as us other desert dwellers might be interested?

Also, if you find a reliable local source for the work maybe we could propose a group deal.

Hey guys thanks for the kind words.
I am working to bring competent transmission shops into our network. I realize not everyone is going to be able to come up for a custom installation.
We have found a few good shops so far, i always looking for more. If you guys know of some more that i can screen and do background checks on please email me and i will take care of it.
In Salt Lake City there is a guy i found that I was impressed with his knowledge.
GS Transmissions

However, you guys are the ultimate judge, feed back good or bad is critical .
HOV maybe post the name and number of the shop you went to.
It is imperative that RAM OWNERS are comfortable where their work is being performed.

In my opinion honest feed back is essential to good product development.
When I went to California the exhaust brake system on my truck was liked, however i listened to comments almost what could be described as a wish list by Dodge Ram owners of what they would really want if they were building the system.

I went home back to shop and re-designed the entire system.
Now the system automatically dis-engages overdrive and goes right into 3rd gear lockup without having to ACCELERATE to DE-EXCELERATE .

Because of the feed back we got from the guys we have added 3additional features i wont get into here.
Point is we can only get better if the consumer has input and high expectations.
Thaks for all those who participated .
Bill

The number and name of the shop I went to was ; A Transmission, 406-453-8618 in Great Falls Montana. No problems so far other than they charged me 200 more than quoted. And I know that they did not do all of the pressure checks that Bill wants to have done nor the wide open shift points. I would give the shop about a "B" overall. Sure wish I could drive to Canada!

I am VERY interested in the torque converter and valve body. Since I live in Florida, is this a consumer installable item (for someone that is mechanically inclined) or do some of the adjustments require special tools the average guy won't have.

I ordered mine today... ... I can not wait... #ad

TVKilgore,
The average mechanically inclined person can install both the torque convertor and valve body. I did both and didn't even have a transmission jack. Our local rental shop had its transmission jack stolen and isn't buying another. No special tools are needed. Bill is wonderful at helping out if you have trouble.

Just thought I would update everyone on my TC that I got from Bill during his journey to SDan Jose. I am still just as pleased as day one, this thing is great! Towing my 5th, (12,700) can't say anything bad about it! Kust thought I would give an update now that I have some miles on it.

I just got back to Texas after having Bill Kondolay redo my transmission. I got the works and I'll second all the good feedback. Just a word on what it feels like to me. I don't drive with WOT all the time, just if I happen to be alongside a PSD or some kid in a hotrod. Normal driving is also different. When I leave my driveway it is a slight incline. Previously my RPM was higher to get up to 25mph in a reasonable distance, around 2000 RPM or so, Now it doesn't get above 1500. This is all subjective but to me it is a significantly different feel. The power is available when needed but because of the reduced slippage I don't need as high rpm to get up to speed. If anyone would like to drive my truck, contact me to set up a time. I live in Cedar Park, a north Austin suburb.
