Does anyone know where I might be able to send in my remote reservoir Bilstein rear shocks off a early Kore Chase system for a rebuild?

I have had these on for about 6 years and they are not holding the N 2 for more than about a month.

I have ZERO other complaints about these shocks and feel that they have given me fair service. I think several summers of towing to the lake in 110 degree heat, then dunking them in the lake has probably taken a toll.

Anyway, I would appreciate any leads you might be able to give me. I did call Kore, but they say they have only put FOX shocks in their systems, which I just take as no one remembering the early prototypes with the Bilsteins. .

Cheers!

A referral to Bilstein would have been helpful. I had one of the early Chase systems w/Bilstein reservoirs on my '98. 5 CTD. Bilstein's headquarters are in Poway,Ca. They should be able to help. Depending on the cost, you might want to contact Carli or Thuren for new ones and great customer service.

The original Kore "Pace" setup I had on my 97 had Bilstein shocks. Not reservoir, but plain Janes. That was back when Kent was still there. I think things might have changed since then.

My Chase system came with Bilsteins as well. I got mine just before they changed to the Fox shock for the chase system.

For the shock rebuild try Service

Thank you sir, looks like that is where I am going to send them. Good thing is that Vegas to Poway should be reasonable for shipping costs. .

Rebuild

Gents, just to close the loop, I called the Poway location this morning and spoke to a rep. I told him the problem that I was having, not holding N 2, and he suggested a parts kit to rebuild the end cap of the reservoirs.

I am getting a kit that has the end cap, seal, schrader valve and o ring for $18. 95 ea. Further, he explained this is a very simple fix that I can do myself.

So, if I can get these back in working order for around 40 bucks, I will be more than happy. As I said above, I have zero complaints about the ride with these things on. .

Thanks again gents.

I live close to the Bilstein facility in Poway. I installed Bilsteins on my 2000 Trooper and ride was awful. I contacted them and they suggested bringing them by. After a tour of the facility, they revalved them overnight. The new valving was somewhat better but before I could appeal for another tweak,a motorist rear-ended me@ 45 mph ending the life of that Trooper and my neck. Good folks out there.

You can buy a complete rebuild kit and individual parts from eshocks.com. You probably need all your seals replaced. The rebuild kit also comes with multiple sets of valve stacks. But they are for the linear rate piston so you use them you'll have to get those pistons as the KORE shocks have the super harsh digressive pistons. I got the kit re-build and re-valved but never could get satisfied. Finally went with Carli/Thruen stuff and things are much better.
