just got the shocks for the 99 ram and take off one shock and start to install... which part goes where... i cant get a human on the phone at bilstein. id like to get done tonight and already have one off... ive heard 2 different descriptions on the rubber spacer. cone on top put in thru the bottom and cone on bottom. whick way?

which way to install sleeve?

I'll do some guessing becouse I haven't done that on your truck yet [yr&modle] but the larger end goes up so it doesn't fill with water beside they built it to work that end up ,lay the parts on the floor in this order to help top , bolt, large washer round facing up, then rubber with smaller part facing down, the next is the frame , then other rubber with smaller round facing up, then large washer round facing down , then shock through all that[ would realy help if 2nd person helps hold thing in place while runing shock through then start bolt , now you can assamble bottom parts, put some lube on rubber parts so that bolt goes through easy, hold bolt and put washer on with rounded facing bolt head ,then rubber with cone facing threads , put that through bottom mount and shock , then next rubber cone facing in on bolt , then washer round facing out , then nut, also as you put it together take one part at a time off other side to help figure out.

bilstein finally called back... they said the cone goes thru the bottom of the shock tower and then install the spacer from the bottom. tq to 25 ft lbs. is this right??

Been a while since I put mine on, but it sounds right.

Their diagrams are clear as mud. Took me a bit to figure out which picture to use as a guide.

The worst one to change, is the front left.
