Can someone tell me if these are the blue and yellow or silver based on this number? BE5F255HO. Does the 5100's only come in sivler? Will the silver shock work well for a non lifted truck?

Thanks

The 5100's (silver) come in different lift zones. The ones I have are for like 0-2" lifts. So yes they will work on non lifted trucks. My brother is running the yellow and blue Bilsteins on his Chevy diesel with no issues. Bilstein has an excellent web site and Geno's Garage shows both the yellow/blue applications and the 5100 apps. for our Dodges.

Thanks Rob. The shop by my house ordered the ones I mentioned but their seemed to be some confusion as to whether or not they ordered the blue/yellow or silver. The guy said silver and gave me this part number (BE5F255HO) but i couldnt find a picture to match this number. My other concern is if they are in fact the silver ones, will they help improve the ride or will it be too stiff. I mostly do highway driving but if i hit a low spot or even going over a speed bump the front end bottoms out. i hope this upgrade will help vs. stock absorbers.

The BE5F255HO is a front shock, and is the 5100 series. It is also noted that it is for 6" lifted vehicles. Bilstein - KYB - Rancho - Monroe - Edelbrock Automotive Truck Shocks and Struts - Shockwarehouse.com I don't think you're getting what you want if you have no lift. I have a 2" leveling kit in the front and 1" blocks in the rear. I'm running 5100 series BE5-6681-H8 in the front and BE5-6647-H1 in the rear, on my '04. So far I notice the control of the ride more than a ride improvement. Off road, on washboard, you can tell the difference. On the highway it's hard to tell. With the long wheel base the truck still hops on the concrete expansion joints, but you don't go sideways.
