Finally made the move---Truck has 18000 miles and last "death march" had me p*ssing blood upon arrival !!! Towed a neutral-balanced equipment trailer 650 miles to Oregon to pick-up a 12000 lb. tractor and return next day. I knew the shocks we're s$it when I bought the truck new but didn,t realize how bad until this weekend---ordered the bilsteins from offroad warehouse 2 days ago and installed them today---what a relief!!! It's a new truck now!!! I highly recommend this upgrade!!!$59. oo ea with the TDR discount!! Thanks Bob Wagner!!

Harley:

It is amazing the difference the Bilsteins make over the OEM shocks. When I finally got around to making the change, the Mopar shocks were pretty much shot (not that I suspect they were a lot better when first installed). Tips from some of the guys here who had installed the Bilsteins made the installation go a lot better than it would have otherwise ( like using a grinder to get them to seat easier. )

Probably the toughest part of the installation for me was the passenger side rear shock. The bottom bolt was installed backward, so you had to get it past the rear stabilizer bar. Of course, if I ever have to change shocks again, it will be a lot easier, as I reversed the bolt so the nut will be on the stabilizer bar end of things.

You are right on target when you say it feels like a new truck. Probably one of the best upgrades I've done on my truck to date.

Better Than New

DC, I replaced my fronts too using Bilsteins and would say they have a great set-up for the CTD.

I agree, had them on my 2000 and loved them. Just installed them on the front of my 2002 today. World of difference. I did not put them on the rear since mine is a daily driver and it will be rare for me to tow or haul more the a few hundred pounds. I figured that the OEM rear shocks should be good enough for a lightly loaded 1 ton. I was right. It rode the same as my 2000 with Bilsteins on all 4 corners. I can alway add the rears if the OEM's start failing.

Got my Bilsteins from OffRoadWarehouse.com

I also have a 3500 4 x 4, so these are the parts numbers:

Front: BE5-2549

Rear: BE5-2550

Be sure and ask for the TDR discount when you call.

A few questions. How much is the TDR discount? What has everyone been paying for shipping? I see they are offering $8 shipping if you buy 4 shocks.

Do Blistein's come in any other color offerings than a yellow body and sky blue dust boot shown on ORW website? How about a black dust boot?

Mine were $57. 99 each. The yellow/blue combination are the only colors I know of that these shocks come in. And $8 for the shipping of four is a very good deal to boot.

I over paid for a reason. Bought them at the local Auto Zone store, got them the next day and if I have any problems, ever with them I just deal locally with Auto Zone. These shocks have a life time warranty. I paid $64 each including tax. I bought the ones for my 2000 from Shox's on the internet, got them in 4 days and saved a couple of $$ per shock. No matter where you buy them get them. It is unbelievable the difference they make in the way the truck handles. I am sure they save the cost of the shocks in tire and suspension wear.

Because my newer truck is leveled, up 2. 5" in front from stock, I had to buy a newer series of Bilstien that is TITANIUM (silver metal) bodied with a black boot.

I'll be the only kid on the block with them - for a while.

Pit Bull pushed the button that finally made me order the bilstein front shocks. :) like him i ordered from AZ for the same reasons. I put some of the high end ones from AZ on it and wasn't really impresed. Hope these will do the trick. Thanks Guys. :D

Hey Kshine, I'm not on your block, but I'm in your state. I also put on the same bilstien shocks as you did. They are a the best bomb yet I've made to my truck. :) #BE5-6681 H5 & BE5-6682 H5. These are for trucks with a 2. 5 inch front leveling spacer.

I took off my gabrieals and installed the new bilsteins yesterday. One of the best things I noticed is those annoying tar strips on the roads are like non existant. pretty kewl.
