Getting ready to order the shocks and do away with the originals. Yellow or Silver? I have not called Geno's yet as I am waiting to hear from the TDR forum tried and true.

Without spending a lot of $$$ the Bilstiens are the best choice, I dont think there is a difference between the two other then color prefrence but may be wrong.

Yellow and blue for stock height trucks. IIRC, the silvers are for lifted trucks up to 2 inches. I have the blue/yellow on the rear of my truck and it is so much better suspension than the stock up front. I can't wait to change the fronts.

The yellow/blue bilsteins are tuned/valved specifically for stock Ram trucks at stock heights.
The silver bilsteins will fit trucks with 0 to 2" of lift, but are more generically tuned.
Most people find EITHER of them a definite improvement over the oem shocks, though the silver ones tend to ride firmer then the yellow ones.

I have run the silver 5100s in my 1990 for 2 years now. A bit rougher when empty but one hell of a shock when loaded. Love it. No body lean anymore. :)

For what it's worth, I'm well pleased with the silver Bilsteins. Much improved control over stock and so far very durable.

The silver ones will prob be the last set you have to buy. Have them on my 05 for over 100,000 miles seem to be as good as the day they went in. No leaks No fade.

My truck is stock height and I use mainly for towing the RV. I want the best ride I can get and not the firmest so it sounds like I need to go with the yellow/blue.

* * Looks like the front shocks have a black plastic cover over them at the top. Does this plastic cover stay or do you remove it when making the upgrade?

Bilstein Silvers

I've got the Silvers with Firestone airbags, and Hellwig rear stabilizer. Big improvement over stock. Firm but not punishing. You'll be happy with them. I drove my dads 2005 F-150 4x4 for a couple of weeks and then went back to my truck last week. The suspension and tracking of my truck are so much better than the Ford it was surprising.

I put silver Bilsteins on my sig truck in 2007, before a 10k round trip to near Wasilla,Alaska by way of Sacramento to pick up a Woodmizer saw mill. The young man who went with me and I agreed that my Dodge was as close to a perfect vehicle for this trip as could be had. The Bilsteins were definitely a "contributing factor"! They still work the same with over 60k on them. On bad roads, I feel like I'm using the steering wheel to steady the truck, not having to "drive" it. I would be greatly surprised if you weren't 100 % satisfied with Bilsteins, no matter which you choose. Mark

You can get a silver in your lift. The o-2 is a size. The 2-3 is a size. Etc.

And yes, I would go silver before a blue/yellow for your application for sure!
