I had Bilsteins on my 98. I installed them after (I thought) the factory shocks had started to go soft (around 60K miles).

Now I have a 2002 with only 5000 miles on it, I wish I had the Bilsteins back. The factory shocks are junk.

I guess I am typing this because now I have had a chance to go from bilsteins back to stock shocks and really can see the difference!

Now to talk my wife into $200. 00 for new shocks for the brand new truck

Is Bilstein a german company? While I"m wondering, is Michelin a french company? I really would like to know because I just won't buy anything french or german from now on. '

I don't think my truck should be denied the best product available just because of the war issue. If people are that hung up on itthey shouldn't buy Dodge trucks since they're Daimler chrysler and use bosch Fuel injection systems. I will continue to buy Michelin, Bilstein, Bosch, Dodge, Heckler and Koch, Wustof, VW and others because I don't like less than the best. I personally love Bilstein shocks. There are american shocks that can be better such as Penske, Fox, King and such but until they come out with Dodge shocks I'm sticking with Bilstein.

Edit: If I could afford an M3, M5, 911-C4-turbo-GT2, or Benz AMG model it would be in the driveway as well. A RUF would work too.

I was looking to get Bilsteins for my 2003 CTD. I called Bilstein and they told me because the 2003 2500/3500 is a new design it will probably be about a year before they have a shock for the new HD trucks.
