Got the new Bilsteins for the front today, in the mail. . One problem though, all the instructions are in German. While my ancestors are from Germany, I do not speak a lick, I mean I barely speak English well. It came with one big flat fender washer, a small washer that is kind of rounded on the edges which I am guessing goes on top with the rounded edge down, a locking nut, allright I know where that goes, and a bushing. that is fat on the bottom, and kida skinny on top, it is kind of hard to describe, but I am guessing that the fat part goes on the bottom, and sticks up through the shock tower, and the rounded washer goes on top of the skinnier part, is this right any suggestions are appreciated. Oh yeah does the metal sleeve go in through the top or the bottom. Once again thanks.

TravisG, you have got it all right. The only thing that I would add is, tighten the locking nut on the shock all the way down untill the washer bottoms on the inner sleeve. If you only tighten the locking nut untill things look right, you will be replacing the upper bushing in a short time. This is the voice of experience. I am now running Bilstien Shocks with Rancho polyurethane bushings. After only 13 months my bushings were garbage due to improper installation. Fortunately there were no undue effects to the shocks.

I KNEW I was justified in being leery of those mounts.

After reading Diesel Gunner's response I ran right out and looked at the upper mounts and sure enough one was moving around enough to have a nice clean area around the outer diameter of the mount. Chewed up pretty good too, but not all the way through. Cranked 'em all the way 'til I ran outta threads.

It oughta hold. We will see.

Thanks Guys!

two different things

O-kay, you guyz say to tighten them down all the way, and the guy at ORW says to just tighten them a little bit. I went back and read up on this and I think the way to go is to tighten them down all the way, but why would this guy at ORW tell me to just tighten them down until they were snug?
