Blue Sun Biodiesel

bio-diesel in fort collins

Anyone running this consistantly and how good is it. Are their any considerations or things you have to do differently using it???

I run a minimum of B5 in every tank, on a long trip I blend upp some B20-B25.

The only concern would be to change your filter after 2 tank fulls to remove all the sludge/crud that has benn washed out.

I buy all my diesel in Minnesota and I believe the requirement for all #2 is that 2% must be bio-diesel. Not 100% sure on that, but I believe I remember it from a year or so ago. I still change my fuel filters at the regular interval.

I have run it for about 6 months now and I love it.

Get about 1-2MPG more and this is with me running B20(20% Bio). Just change the filter after a few tanks for the reason mentioned above.

I get mine from Blue Sun which is a company based out of Ft Collins, Colorado and the crop used to make it is grown in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

Also have a friend that is running B100 in his Diesel but he was warned against it due to some possible bad reaction between the bio and certain compounds that fuel systems are made from. Check Blue Suns website out for the list of items.

I have been running B20 about 2 months now, smokes a little less, gets same mpg, can't really tell the diffrence. The brand is Biosoy for what it is worth.

The local supplier is flakey with the price (TW Brown, CFN ) some days it is cheaper, some days 20 cents more... ... . Going back to #2 and additive since at least I know what I am paying.

Now when I get a place where i can make my own the fun should start... ... ...

he can keep it.

If you think of it as an additive, it's not too bad, assuming that's B100. How much would a gallon of Stanadyne or Power Service cost?
