Now running 50% Biodiesel.....

biodiesel...

I caught a thread on another site about bio fuel causing problems on some of the new Fords. The high compression in the injectors (25k psi & up) causes the bio fuel to either varnish up or crystalize (I can't remember), thus causing other interesting problems.

Has anyone here been using bio fuel for a long time now had any problems?

I got asked a similar question yesterday. Here is the response I received

I have no clue what bioDiesel will do. The test cell and funding is kinda short. Got a few million bucks laying so I/we can find out? LOL!

here is what I have ascertained so far about fords and biodiesel... .....

Friday I picked up a 55 gallon drum of the good stuff and had a generic talk with the owner about biodiesel. And eventually about filters clogging. Mine hasn't yet (but I haven't placed any gauges before and after the filter to prove that). But he did say on a Ford. It clogged the next day with sludge that was present in the system. He changed the filter and didn't clog again. So it sounds like on the Ford it cleaned out all the sludge in one shot. Now somebody else here said they didn't notice much clogging. You would have to do a search here under biodiesel. As far as the varnishing, I haven't seen anything about that. I have no idea how the fords work vs. cummins. Maybe his system was unique or exceptionally filthy. Maybe some here knows the difference.

do you have a link to that thread?? it sounds like an important read.
