Has anyone converted a 24 valve to bio or greasel?

Thats a sore subject around here. :(

One of the kit manufactures (Greasel?) advises against the conversion due to VP44 failures (although I couldnt find any data to support this claim).

I have read on more than just that site WVO is a no-no, but Bio, keep the fuel filter fresh and should be good to go, just watch the temps, bio doesnt like low outside temps. Check out the alt. fuels forum.

Yeah, I've been looking into Bio as it is really starting to pick up in my area. I've found however, that buying bio is approx. 3. 70 a gallon, to have 2500 shipped to my house, and 3. 90/gallon for anything less than 2500 gallons. As SVO (straight vegi oil) is concerned I would stay away from that, it costs about 1500 dollars to set your truck up, you need a secondary tank with a heat exchanger, to warm the fuel up to operating temps. and I talked to a guy that ran it in his ford, he was happy, but he had to put in a $23. 95 fuel filter every 500-1000miles. Not cool. Bio, I think has potential, you don't need to convert your truck, if you build a refining system, it costs about 75 cents per gallon to make, and in colder climates, you can mix it with diesel #2, or run 100% diesel #2 again. No special converting, go back and forth between the two. However I've heard of a 5-10% decrease in power and Fuel economy. So that is pretty much all I know.

Oh yeah, there is some speculation that it may lead to injectors getting gummed up, however I don't know anyone that has run it long enough to find out, no one I know has more than about 15-20k on it. But it seems fine at that rate.
