You have to take LD50 values for what they are... very rough estimates of the RELATIVE toxicity of chemicals. They're determined by feeding various amounts of a chemical to largish numbers of rats or bunnies... the amount that kills 50% of the critters is then multiplied by a scaling factor for the difference between the size of the critter and the size of a human, and there's yer LD50. Like I say, its just a rough measure... good for distinguishing whether something is really really toxic (say, cyanide) or merely kinda toxic (say, biodiesel).ndurbin said:The part I found that under was for meeting the LD50 toxicity rating
