Biodiesel Help !

Here's my take on it. Been running B50 (cottonseed oil ) for 3 months with no problems. It is true that you will need to change the fuel filter a little earlier than normal, believe me this stuff cleans your fuel system you will notice it when you change the filter. My first filter change was an eye opener, it was dirty.

The engine seems quieter, smoother and actually feels more responsive than before. I have no solid numbers on mileage but I think it has increased a little.

I read a thread about excessive water in bio, I don't think so, I have noticed no more than when I was running 100% diesel. As far as clogging up the engine well I can see where that would apply if you did not change the fuel filter a couple of times after switching over especially in an older model that would have alot of miles on regular diesel.

Don't go by what Cummins and Chrysler say do your own research on the subject and decide for yourself. I strongly believe that engine and auto makers have a deal with the oil companies in that they try to squash anything that will power a vehicle that isn't fossil fuel derived.

I made the change due to the fact that half of my fuel dollars currently go to help American farmers and not the Saudis. Anyone in the Fort Worth area close to I35w and Long Ave. check out dfwbiodiesel.com. Great info on their site.

I remember a thread that mentioned that the bio did not cool the VP as well. Something about not taking the heat away as well.

I think that I now feed my VP44 like it was meant to be fed, that won't be an issue.

I'm wondering if I lost a little power. Are new Cadillac Escalades fast? One handed me my butt tonight. There is a 2 lane left hand turn that goes from my road to the bel air bypass. We made the left and he mashed the gas. I figured I'd go till 60 mph. He got me good.
