Used Motor Oil

Biodiesel Effect On 1st Gen Parts?

I got bit by the biodiesel bug. Oo. I saw a special on TRUCKS! several weeks ago and have been looking at the fuel meister system ever since on the fredomfuelamerica.com website. Everything looks really simple, except how do you keep the used vegetable oil from turning into a jelly type state? It seems like to me you would have to buy their heater blanket to heat the "oil" back into a liquid state.

Anybody try this yet?

With what results?

Seems like no problem for our engines.

I have several buddies that are willing to take the plunge, except we do not know how easy it will be to find used vegetable oil and how long we will have supplies if this really takes off.

Please give advise.

Thanks

Tom

First, read all the info links you can stand under "Biodiesel info" from this site (don't need to buy their products, necessarily, but they're a good source of links). Plan on spending a full day. This will answer many of your questions.

As to the fuelmeister, while it's a slick looking system, you can build one just as effective, if not more so, for about 20% of the cost of the fuelmeister like the one shown on Trucks! You have to do some shopping and scrounging, but it will pay off.
