Evan's a Birthday boy

Not into buying and selling cars but our neighbor brought her sister in law over to see my '93 Mustang I had for sale with no sign. Just word of mouth. She bought the car and the neighbor hinted at a bird dog fee. Sounds fair enough but I have no idea what is customary for a bird dog fee. Is it a percentage and if so what percent?

That's bad form on your neighbor's part. It always irritates me when someone says they'll do/did you a favor and then expect to get paid for it. It ain't a favor if you ask for money for doing it... that would be a job.

Normally I would have given her $100 or so for it but in this case I'd tell her to pound sand.

LMAO!:-laf :-laf :-laf

We agree the neighbor is showing poor taste. My wife was thinking of an amount to tip the neighbor for the tip. When I told her of the hint when I got home, she doesn't want to give her squat. I think I'll let it be and if she says something again I'll ask her what she feels is a fair amount for a bird dog fee. If it's a small amount I might pay up and then ask her to not "help" us in the future. If anything, she helped her sister in law find a good car at a very good price. The sister in law should cough up a bird dog fee!:D

Well if she had the class to ask you for a bird dog fee, don't you think she did the same to her sister-in-law? Double dippin ya know... what are friends and family for?
