Just curious if anyone else has this problem.

Twice in the last week I have seen a robin standing on my side view mirror and trying to peck the side window and vent visors. The bird actually pulled the vent visor loose near the mirror.

In the process these birds have managed th I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER all over both doors several times. I can't shoot them with the Browning Citori without killing my RAM!

Actually a quite common phenomenon! The birds don't like to see their reflections in the mirrors so they'll sit there and peck at the mirrors all day long if you let them (not quite sure of the vent visor though). If you cover the mirrors, I'm sure they will stop. I've actually heard of some pecking the mirror completely off!

Look in the boating magazines for the fake owl or snake. They are used to keep birds off boats when not in use. I'm sure they will work for the Ram. The covering the mirrors suggestion is much cheaper and should work just as good.

I had that problem at my dad's ranch in Oklahoma. I borrow his 410 and no more problems.

They're probably just doing their morning primping. LOL A cloth that's had some ammonia soaked into it should do the trick. It works on keeping garbage cans from getting spilled all over the place by raccons, etc so it should work for birds too.

One other thing you could try is to drive faster. At about 60 to 70 mph the little fellers have a hard time hanging on #ad

Some male birds are particulary territorial and because we are coming into their mating season, this will happen. Like someone already said, they can make quite a mess and cause a lot of damage. Surest cure beyond shooting is to cover up the mirror and sometimes the glass. This to shall pass.

Robins you say! #ad
As in the National Bird! #ad
#ad
Like jail time if your caught shooting(killing) them. #ad

I try one of the alternatives. #ad

Down here one farmer recorded the warning screech they make and plays it on loud speakers ( don't know if it works, he was experimenting).
Adopt a Cat!
Plastic bag over mirrors sounded good.

not sure what you did to p. o. those birds? prehaps you should invest in a bird bath or feeder to appease? LOL

Funny thing is I have a feeder and bath in the back yard. Also, the birds didn't seem to like the '94 or '99 Ram 360ci gassers I had before the new Cummins. Maybe the birds like the diesel smell as much as I do!!!

Going out now to wash off the bird I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER...

Be happy it's only a small bird. I got the
seagulls. Olympic class ****ters!! Kind of like a 747 with a rectum!! Looks like a danish if I dont pull the truck under the tent. #ad

What's worse than bird crap is bee poop. I bring in over a hundred hives for orchard pollination every year, when the bees are here you had better have your rigs undercover, the bee droppings are yellow and very difficult to remove.

Sleepy, graft on a set of those HUGE twin stalk - horribly ugly ferd mirrors. THAT ought to scar the little critters away without using gunpowder. #ad

So if i mount those big plastic owls on both my mirrors they will leave my truck alone too???. Anybody make a custom mounting bracket for that?. My neighbors dog ****** on my tires and rims, will that damage the chrome?

I like the rifled pellet gun. Very cheap then if that fails then go with the 22. If those fail I can mail you a picture of my ex-mother in law. Thats scary enough to keep you from driving your truck!!!! Shes so fat if she jumped in the air she would get stuck.

Birds, mostly seagulls were picking off young salmon migrating downsteam though fish ladders at the dams near my home. They literally spent millions of dollars tring to protect the salmon with plastic owls, snakes and bird cannons, all to no avail. What finally worked was grid, maybe 10' x 10' of very fine wire high in the air over the ladders. The birds couldn't see the wire and would crash into it, that only had to happen once to a bird to remind it not to come back.
