First Oil Change

Just got New Truck this last week

8100 MI. On 04 with CARB emission controls. I have changed oil twice, and it's solid black in 800 mi. Is this normal? Thanks for the input.

Yep, it is completly normal. Do a search about this subject and you will find several post on it, and why it happens.

Enjoy your truck!

I like the Amsoil twin bypass filter system , next is the toilet paper filter or is that first becouse it simpler and cheaper.

I like the Amsoil Twin Bypass system, too. So much I bought one, the Frantz blows it away.

The Amsoil Bypass filters your oil, the Frantz POLISHES your motor oil, check Gary's pics. That oil is CLEAN.

Just buy Stratapore the oil will still be black but it won't hurt a thing save your money for more fun things. These motors will run 1,000,000 miles with just proper maintance you don't need all that other fancy stuff ,filters special oil, just Rotella T. My . 02.

Gee Neibe,

Why don't you just throw a Fram oil filter on your rig and call it a day?

Why did you buy a CTD anyway? You don't need a fancy rig like that.

A Powerstroke would of been just fine!

You totally missed the point. You don't need to baby these trucks.

Synthetics, ritzy glitzy gismos, like fancy filters systems only increase operating costs.

Just run a good quality filter like the Fleetguard strat, and a good quality oil like Delo, or rotella and your good to go :p

Mac
