When I saw this black tip in 8 lug magazine I had to have one. My truck is black and I painted my exhaust black, so a black tip would be sweet. When I received it I was not to impressed with how black it was, only looked black against something white. I bought it from Laguna speed shop and I called and complained about it. They told me I was a idiot for thinking it would be black. "Every one knows black stainless is not black", they would not take it back. So I just put it on and only have 300 or so miles on it and it has turned gold and looks like crap. #@$%! Any one else have this problem? Sorry for the rant. I guess I will have to buy the overpriced RBP ceramic one.

just take it and have it ceramic coated black. I wouldn't put one of those ugly RPB tips w/ their name all over it on my truck.

I'm sorry you fell for the black stainless marketing hype. It really doesn't look that great IMO :(

I have not seen the RBP tip in real life, but it looks like that ugly name plate is pop riveted on. I was hoping to take it off. May be I just wait for all the finish to flake off from rock chips:-laf

like I said, might as well just have a tip ceramic coated vs. buying an RBP tip

I'm sure you could polish the black anodization off of your stainless tip

I'd be mad too..

The Silverline™ Black Stainless exhaust tip is NOT a cheap tip.

If you had bought it from Geno's, Robin probably would have refunded your $$ w/ no questions asked.

I can't find any disclaimer in the press release's, tech release's or their site saying the black stainless turns gold after use.

Get on the phone Monday morning (# in above press release) and tell them you were disappointed with the finish & it tuned gold after short term use. Also note the lack of customer support/Service from Laguna speed shop.
