2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission black stickers on door in between side windows

Has anybody removed the black stickers on the door post of a quad cab truck between the windows? Is the door frame painted under the sticker? I have always hated them, I think it would look better the color of the rest of the truck. I am thinking about removing them. I think I could get them off with a heat gun. Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have maybe a half inch or less "chunk" missing from the bottom of that black tape portion. It is painted at least there.

I'm down to 6 inches missing from one side - Yes, it is painted under the decals.

I wasnt trying to remove it. I just noticed it was gone. Could have been like that when I bought it new.

Hi, Our car wash down the road took about 1/2 of one side off! Anyway yes its painted.

mine painted too. . on both sides, both have nice wavey crack from front to back... and I see the red paint under there. no idea if it's clear coated or not, or just color...

I had mine replaced under warranty several years ago. They are just decals.
