Black tube bumpers

I need comments on installing 3" black tube bumpers front and back,oem bumpers are too soft someone lightly touched them and damaged. I have never seen a Ram diesel with this type of bumpers.
My truck is a 99-Quad Cab 155"WB 2x4 aut. SLT Laramie light driftwood satin glow . If any TDR member have seen the looks on this type of bumpers plese reply.

I dont know about the black tube bumpers but I agree about the 'soft' bumpers. I've got two annoying dings in my rear bumpber. Both from not being able to see below the tailgate and both at about two mph or less!

Anyone have an idea what a good used bumper might go for?

I have a 95 reg cab 2wd that I accidently backed into a phord ranger pu. There was absoul;utly no damage to the phord. Unfurtunatl;y my big manley Doge Ram sufered a dent to the rear bumper. The incedent also caused the bumper to cave in and rub aganst the rear of the truck causing a worn spot and rust on the rear of the truck. I love my truck but Doge makes a realy chinzey bumper. Just my 2 cents worth.

I had a set of Smitty Built Tube bumpers on a previous pickup, which was a Jeep Commanche (a midsize pickup) There were very tough and looked good on that particular truck. I am not sure I would like them on the RAM

I unfortunately had a close encounter where they paid off. It was one of those chain reaction pileups and I was in the middle. The car in front of me and in back of me had to be towed. The Honda in front had over $7000. 00 damage and a Toyota in the back was impailed through the radiator on my trailer hitch. I left unscathed other than some of the black paint chipped off.

The only problem with those bumpers is they were painted. After about 5 years they looked pretty bad (rusty). I was able to re-paint them but they never looked very good.
