Here is a little tid-bit of advise for you guys wondering why it takes so long to get your sample results back. When you mail them in with the bottle, the good old post office slows them way down because they handle them like hazardous waste along the whole way.
When I send mine in, I put the bottle in a plain brown little shipping box and mail it out. I have my results usually in 3 days by email.
when the Post Office says 'is there anything liquid, fragile, or perishable' I say NOPE, and I usually get my results within a week. They can email you the results, also, if you didnt know.
Yeah I told the post office "no". I also checked I wanted another sample bottle.
I mailed the bottle wrapped in a carboard tube and all tapped up. They emailed me the results, but it took a month from when I mailed it in to when I got the email... . and then about a week after I got the papers in the mail, but no new sample bottle.
I didn't know about the TDR discount. They still haven't charged me for the sample though. I think it's $20??
Well 2 sample bottles came in the mail yesterday. I had emailed them about it and mentioned the TDR discount, so they said they will take $2 off what they billed me... which I don't know what the is still because they haven't billed me yet.
I have been using BlackStone since about 1995. I didn't know they had moved... . Since I got into motorcycles. I only put about 10K miles a year on my truck, which is just one oil change, so I also only send in my samples much less frequently than the first 4 years I had the truck.
Fortunately for me, one of my local post offices now has an "Automated Shipping Center" - so I can weigh and then print the shipping tag myself, and I don't have to deal with a clerk asking about fluids
I also get my responses in email, and I have never had a response take more than ~10 days, even before email.
If you figure it out let me know, I'm showing a little fuel dilution too but no shortage of HP or difficult starting even @ <20F. So I dont think rings are in question
If you live near a large truckstop you may also have a speedco closeby. They do in house analysis on a driveup basis. I just pull up to the front door since I don't need a bay, usually about $15 and 30 minutes later I have my analysis in hand. Just an option. R C
I just got mine back 2 days after sending it in. Sent the bottle in at lunch on Tuesday, and received the results this Thursday afternoon via e-mail. I have received excellent service from Blackstone. . (even gotta particle count this time. . ) :-laf
Shortshift, I see in your sig you have 100 gallons of fuel on board. What are you using for tank setup? I am looking to do this also but not sure wheather to buy or build.
