I am preparing to flush the brake system on a 1999 3500 truck with the antilock brake setup. On my 97, I removed the old fluid from the reservoir and replaced it with new fluid and proceeded to do a brake bleed at the wheels until new fluid came out. Can I do the same procedure on the antilock system without screwing something up??

Thanks for the help.

Yes.

Do your rear brakes work still? Mine never worked until I removed the abs fuse. I heard that on some abs systems you need to loosen the bleeder screw to compress the piston in the caliper. Im not sure about Dodge abs though.

I haven't attempted the brake flush yet. Just got finished changing the rear diff lube to Amsoil 75-140. I did a search on brake bleeding on the web site and received a lot of info plus I dug out my old TDR's and have been doing some research. I tried the antilock system today and it seemed to be working as well as could be expected. (Give me the old system any day!!! I'll never sell my 97 with 40K miles!!!) I may attempt the brakes tomorrow.
