My 98.5 has no heat or defrost at all. Put in a new heater core last summer & I have zero coolant loss. I'm assuming the next thing to check is the blend door but I can't see an actuator under my dash. I know some models were controlled by a cable but I can't find any definitive information as to which ones. One article I read says Dodge started using the actuator in 95 & another says 98 but that not all 98's have them. Can anyone give me the correct information? Also, is there anything I should check before I tear into the dash to try to fix it? If mine is cable operated how difficult of a fix am I looking at?

'98s are operated by cable. To get to it you have to tip the dash down, just like when the heater core was replaced. It's possible it was never reconnected since it has to be moved to get the core out.

Well, I fixed it this afternoon in about 30 minutes. Turns out you can reach it if you remove the glove box. So glad I didn't have to tip the dash down again just to reconnect the cable.

Well, at least I steered you in the right direction. The bonus is that I wasn't aware you could access it with the glovebox out. Good info.
