A few weeks ago, I noticed that I had control over the temp in my '07. The AC worked great, but could not get it to deliver heat in any position. Due to lack of time, and frankly lack of desire to do that job right now, I took it to the local dealer. They diagnosed it as a blend and mode door failure and did the subsequent ($$$!) repair.

When I picked it up from the dealer last Wednesday, I tried it on the way home once and it did blow heat. For the fun of it, I tried it again Thursday morning and sure enough, back to the original problem again... . no control over the temperature. To add to it, now I have a P0532 AC Pressure Low code. You used to be able to freeze meat in that truck and now it is just slightly cool. Not exactly what I want to be dealing with when it was nearly 100 here yesterday.

Anyhow, I called the dealer and they are going to take it back in on Monday morning to "Make it Right". So I'm not chasing good money after a whole lot of bad, does anyone have an Idea of what is going on in this thing?

I would suggest you go to heatertreater.net and read thru their troubleshoot section... . its pretty informative... .

I have been to the heatertreater site quite often lately. What am I missing there that explains what is going on with my truck? I'm not intentionally playing dumb. I may have just missed something or just don't understand what's happening here.

They had to evacuate the system to pull the Hvac. Did they apply a proper vacuum and refrigerant during the install? Will the dealer install the stronger metal doors if you pay for the doors?

I was assuming that they probably didn't properly charge the system after they put it back together. Hopefully, there isn't a leak now somewhere.

I will have to ask, but I assume that they would install the heater treater doors for example if I ask them to. They supposedly installed the "new" version of the Mopar doors this time around, which were supposed to be better. What bothers me is what would cause those new doors to fail so quickly. Literally, this time, they cycled one time before failure.

i haved 2 "New versions" break. one faster than the original version.

I will do the heater treater when it happens again.

Same thing happened to me... The originals failed under warranty, dealership replaced them with "updated" parts... they didnt last as long as the originals, but just long enough for the truck to get out of warranty... . Stuck the heatertreater doors in, haven't had as issue since...

Just an update. They replaced a failed actuator this time. Blend doors were not broken this time thankfully. Will definitely do the heater treater doors when they fail the next time if I do the job myself.

glad to hear you got it fixed. . this time of year, if the a/c is broke, the truck is broke!!

That is the truth right there. We are not used to this type of heat up here. Working AC is a must. How you handle this all the time in Texas is beyond me.

LOL... that's how we are with this heat. Local news stations have nothing on except for excessive heat warnings and stories about how hot it is. There are practically riots at Wal-Mart when they get a new shipment of air conditioners in. In the winter, most people here don't even blink at 12" of snow.

It's only supposed to be 99 here tomorrow, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll be heading to Florida for a few weeks soon. Can't wait to get there to cool off a little. :-laf
