Blind Spot Activation

When driving at slow speed on an ocean beach the blind spot system deactivates and the indicators in both mirrors come on. The message in the dash tells me to clean the tail light lens. They are clean and the weather is clear. My question is is this normal for a 2019 Laramie?

It wouldn't surprise me if the sensors had some salt air buildup that didn't look dirty to human eye...enough driving on a paved road along a beach made a forward detection sensor unavailable from the buildup.
