I have a 07. 5 6. 7l 3500 6sp man with 34k miles or so, and I put a flatbed on it last year. I started to have a problem with the blinkers a week or two ago. What would happen is It would blink normally then go to a fast blink. I noticed that it would to this a time or two, then back to normal. Over the weekend it has gotten worse. The left rear and the right front blinkers are not working.

I checked my connections on the flatbed, and there is not any power to my left blinker wire on the truck side. I had it tied into where the original taillight was. Now I have changed the connection to the trailer plug and I have power again.

On the front right side, I removed the headlight and replaced the bulb, but still no blinker. There is not any power there either. The parking light side of the bulb does function.

I am wondering if it is the blinker, windshield wiper switch on my steering column.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

We have an 08 5500 and we've put a flatbed on the truck... if you don't have enough current flow to the turn signal circuit... it will flash normal for 2 or 3 flashes and than flash fast... . Does your flat bed have LED's. . this is a common problem... .

Have the installer either put a resistor in the circuit(to increase current flow) or switch back to standard lights..... or install more lights to increase the load...

I assume that too much load might do the same thing... and if you overload the module it will shut down... and needs the attention of the dealer...
