 My block heater burned up 2 weeks ago so i had the dealer order a new one. The cord also melted at the plug end. Just so you guys know the block heater and the cord are two separate items. Now for the really bad news it is not covered under the warranty. Called dodge directly and they stated that is not covered under the 5 years 100000 mile warranty. Now as far as I know every D/C engine comes with one. The dodge people just kept telling me that is was not a internal part. The block heater even though it screws into the block is not covered. Now how could this be. These people will do anything to make us pay. Only have 38000 miles on my 2001. I suppose I could of changed it myself but I let them do it. I guess I will be my own warranty station for now on. :--)

mine did the same thing. I bought a cord from cummins paid a lot less than the Dodge dealer, oh by the way, the only thing covered under the 100,ooo mile warranty are the things that aren't broken, You are your own warranty station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out

Illflem is probably right!! My cord went bad last month and I replaced it with one from Cummins. It was only around $15. 00. The lousy stealer wanted $40. 00 and they didn't have it in stock.

Took 10 mins to change. Easier to get at connection on block if you remove the oil filter.

got that right. The only thing covered by the warranty is everything that isn't broken. "Wait a minute, that's broken, its not covered under the warranty. " Is probably a statement forged into the minds at stealer training day.
