Looks like i have coolant leaking from the bottom of where the heater goes into the block. How do i remove and replace. This is on the 94

block heater

KSAMS, I've done the repair on a 94 I used to have. It's not a big deal. I got a knew block heater from the dealer, 30-40 bucks as I remember, follow the cord into the block there is a nut that needs to be loosened. Loosen it all the way . There is a rubber o-ring on the inside of the block that when you tighten the nut on the outside of the block it seals into the side of the block. Your seal may be bad or loose. Anyway if you replace or take out prepare to loose alot of antifreeze. Have some on hand to refill after install , If you have to istall. The job is straight forward. When you loosen the outer nut pull hard to get the o-ring thru the block. Wiggle back and forth up and down until it comes out. The new one goes in just like the old one came out. Hope this helps. Good luck Brian

you can drain the antifreeze first using the petcock on the radiator. makes for less mess to clean up later. Use a clean container and the old antifreeze can even be reused!
Quick tip. After opening the petcock, take off the radiator cap. the coolant will drain out alot quicker as the system wont be in vacuum.
