Can anyone tell me where the block heater is located on a third gen truck? I looked at the one on my 93 to give me a good idea, but with everything all crowded on the new one, I can't see anything. I'm not very familiar with the new Cummins engine, because of the obvious reason that it isn't near old enough to need any major work.

It's right in the same location. However, it does not come from the factory with the power cord. Look for the cap that covers the power cord connector.

Passenger side, slightly back and behind the oil filter... should be an aluminum plug, this is threaded in, unscrew it and pull the plug... should have some prongs exposed.

It is a pain to get to though... I did mine during an oil change without the filter in the way...

Thanks alot, I found the cap and put my plug in there. It wasn't very hard to get to from underneath. I will admit that it isn't exactly in the best place in the world. If anyone wants to know-I bought the cord from Genos for only $27. 95. I thought this was a very fair price, although it should have been on the truck when I bought it.

yeah... the cost on a new truck for the cord is only 10 bucks... but they get us for 3x the $$$ later on if the truck did not come with one and you want it... oh well.
