Anybody else had the block heater trip the GFI outlet? I`m sure by the ohm values that heater is shorted, I disconnected the cord and all reads clear on the cord. Just wandered if anybody else has had this happen, Thanks

Mine was shorted where the cord connects to the block heater. The heater checked out OK. I think it should be around 10 ohms if I remember correctly. A new cord from the Cummins dealer fixed it for about $11.

Block Heater Detonation!!!

When I plugged my '03 in, for the first time, it blew the circuit breaker and a white cloud of smoke came out of my engine compartment.

Needless to say, I ran for the fire extinguisher.

This is the first time I have heard of block heater problems.

That's strange mine did it to me the other night when it was 18 out. I reset it again and it tripped so when I got home that night I thought I would try again, all was well.
