Block Heater

Does my 04 5.9 have a block heater and where is it? Does all of them have them from the factory?

All have a block heater. It is just behind the oil filter. Not all trucks came with a cord. It's 750w.

Its only 750w? No wonder my dodge takes so much longer v/s my stroke. My 96 stroke was over 1000W.

If you looking for a cord it is on the pass side where the hood meets the bumper.

Unless someone added one before he bought the '04, he probably doesn't have a cord. I'd suggest Geno's.

Radically different fuel systems to compare. All the electronic engines take at least 2 full revolutins to synch the sensors and start. That said never was an IDI that started faster than than a 12V or even a CR if everything was in good shape. Slow starts on on a DI engine is an indication of a developing problem.

I think all 03's and 04's had the cord included. I don't think it was until later years that they made it an option.
