I bought my '02 used with approx. 18,900 miles. The blow-by bottle has been removed. Installed on the round plastic piece on the gearcover is a heater hose that has been routed upwards toward the hood, routed alongside the valve cover and to the driver side firewall and down to the general area of the rear of the front axle. I have noticed no drips at all, I do notice the occasional smoke/vapor when I start the truck in the garage or at stationary idle. Is there a problem with this hose being routed upward? What problems am I going to encounter with the way it is presently installed? What dou guys recommend... . I did the searches and saw the various fixes... . Gary's with the sock looked easy enough!

As built the hose does go up before turning down. You should be fine. If you live in an artic climate you would have to be concerned with any condensation freezing causing a blockage.
