Blower motor making noise

On my 07 the blower motor will start making a grinding noise and start to slow down. I can hit the bottom of the blower motor and it will stop making noise and speed up to normal. This may last a day more or less. Do I need to replace it or is there another reason for this?

Pull it out with three torx screws and a single connector. Turn it up-side-down and shake it to see if parts from the recirc door fall out.
