My original blower motor resistor lasted about 8 years. The replacement, about a year. The next one, about 2 days. All 3 of them showed signs of overheating. My question to those who know a lot more than I is my blower motor needing replaced? Is it drawing too many amps to keep it running? Or, did the latest replacement happen to be faulty?
Thanks in advance!

At this point I would start over and replace both at the same time.Make sure there is no sign of overheated wiring or connectors.

Yes most resistor failures is due to blower motor needing to be changed, especially if repeated failures of resistor with same motor. I change both together now on everything.

Be sure to inspect the blower motor connector for any warpage/melting too.

I will start over with both new. I'm not an electrician, but I could see where the resistor had suffered heat damage and suspected the motor could be the cause. Thanks for the replies!
