Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Blowing fuel back into the tank, Bad idea

I did this over a week ago trying to determine if I had a restriction. This procedure did nothing as far as increasing fuel preasure on my rig. At 3/8s of a tank, I started sucking air, and actually stalled out the rig, filling the vp full of air. I pulled the tank and the fuel module, the metal screen canister in the bottom was blown apart. Two days prior I had run my tank down to the fuel light. So I can asume that air into the tank, blew the module apart.

Nothing wrong with the process - ya just have to use a bit of caution and lower PSI during the operation - too little PSI, and no benefit - you have already learned about the opposite extreme... :-laf

There is a warning sign, If at about 3/8s of a tank and while maybe on an uphill grade, you see your fuel pressure fall off, well... better carry a five gallon jug of fuel.
