3" Body Lift Question

DD3's are in

 Well, after several months of dealing with BD regarding the problem I had with their "Short Shift" kit for my '01 Ram, I finally talked to them today, read the previous saga here . I contacted them immediately after the problem was noted, which was upon install. I was referred to several people in the company, all promising to "find out what the problem was. " After each person, (I had to call each person several times as NO CALLS WERE EVER RETURNED, :( each call led no where.

Now this is over a four month period, so not being patient was not an issue. I sent them the link to the post above, that includes several other members problems with the item, and a like to the "Diesel Resource" web sight, supplied by HeberRam, that listed several more consumers with problems. With all that evidence, what was the response???? ZIP, ZILCH, NOTHING!!!

The bottom line is I'm out nearly $600 bucks after having the transmission removed and a new shift tower installed to correct the problem.

Now I am sure that that MOST of their products work as intended, and maybe even most Short Shift kits. But there is sufficient proof that there is a problem in some applications, and their response was to put their head in the sand, and pretend that those that had problems were not enough to worry about.

Moral of this story?? If you choose to purchase this product, let the buyer beware. It is an expensive lesson to learn, and the manufacturer WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT.

It is important to note here that I bought the product from Geno's, who treated me fantastically, and refunded the purchase price without question.

I am sorry to have to present this matter in such a negative light, but everything presented here is fact. I am off now to reproduce this post on as many other boards as I can find. Sarge

Hey Sarge, did you go onto BD's web site and complain? I would, and every time they kill the thread I would repost it under a different name, or e-mail Mr. Roth himself if you can find his e-mail address or his phone number, go stright to the top, if you know the names of the people you have talked to let him know that you have been ignored and that there customer relations suck and that you are not impressed with there product, remember **** rolls down hill.

I had a uncomfortable experience with BD quite some time ago... . I bought some 275 injectors on eBay, only to find out that I needed new connector tubes before I could install them, so I phoned BD since they are Canadian and quite close to where I live and asked if they had them in stock. He asked why I needed them, and I said to install my 275 injectors, he says where did you get the injectors... . I reluctently said eBAY:( , then he says "well why don't you get them to get you the connector tubes". I didn't like the way he said it, I could tell he was chocked that I didn't get them from him so I said I will get them somewhere else... ... so I ordred from Piers and 4 days later had them in my hand... ... gotta love the people at Piers. Ever since then I have had a bad taste in my mouth for BD.

You know, that too bad. I guess when you make enough money you can blow off customers and not worry about it. Hopefully this will save other members some greif.....

Had a problem with my comp on my 02 and they would not stand behind it. Had to finally had to go to Edge and they took care of it with no problem!Love Edge hate BD!

Thats weird...

I sent in my BD Exahust brake from my 2002 Ram 6sp, and even though it was out of its 1 year warr. the items were repaired and or replaced at no charge, just had to pay for shipping. I received a call or E-mail with in 1 day of my message. I delt with Loren, and he was great!

I don't doubt that i'd buy from anybody other than BD because of the outstanding customer service I've received. I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience.

best of luck,

corey

I'm glad for you Corey. someone must have been having a good day there. this however deals more with product development. A much costlier issue... .....
