I was just towing the trailer back from a weekend trip and everything was working well untill I went to pass another vehicle. I heard a "pop", lost all boost and watched my egt's skyrocket. I had to baby it home and had a heck of a time keeping the egt's below 1250 degrees. I did a cursory look and saw no exterior structural issues with the turbo. I suspect that the turbo is blown. Is this the likely problem? If so / not what is the best way to diagnose the problem? If it is the likely problem, look at my signature and please recommend a good after market turbo replacement based on my mods. By the way, I do not have the Banks computer on-board anymore. I replaced it with The Edge Juice w/ Attitude. Tried to update my sig, but it doesn't seem to take.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!! Henry#@$%!

More than likely you blew a hose in the air intake system. Check the hoses and tubes from the turbo to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the intake manifold. Check the intercooler while you are at it; maybe you blew a side off.

Checking the turbo is easy. Unclamp the air intake hose to the turbo and pull it off and then give it a spin. It should spin smoothly

if the turbo "blew" you'd know it! check the hoses and intercooler, @ 48psi on stock boots I do it alot! beware the stock clamps break and look fine, best to pressure test with pipe plug and valve stem and air compressor ,be carefull!

Hey thanks guys, you were right. One of the clamps was loose and popped off the boot leading to the intercooler. I guess checking the clamps will have to be worked into my maint schedule. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!
