Competition Blue Chip Redline ?'s

I know there is some talk on other threads about this, but nothing answering my questoin. Can anyone give me details on how the Blue Chip Redline works for street driving? Can it be adjusted down and be manageable or is it too agressive to drive on the street at all. I know it is advertised as an off road use only box, but I'm looking for some real world experience. I really like the added rpm, but can't justify the cost if I can't run it on the street. Or could we run a timing box with it (EZ) and just keep the Redline off for around town stuff. Just looking to get some feeling for what kind of manners this thing has.

I don't use mine on the street 99. 99% of the time. I have tried it for test purposes to see how the truck ran. It is very aggressive!! That is why they say it is for OFF ROAD use only. The first versions were worse but Chip has made changes for the better it is much smoother but is still not like a comp box. I only use the box set on MAX so I can't give you really good info about how it works "turned" down for street play. You will get 4k under no load conditions for sure but I think if you can't support the higher rpm's you won't get the full benifit under power. The 24v cam is not designed to support more than 3500 rpm's and you will probably need to upgrade the valve train so you don't float your valves.



This is still only a fueling box so you will need a timing box to go with it. I was not able to "bark" my(good sized) turbo with my other box but with the Redline box it does.



There are several boxes out there but the pulling season is pretty much over in the this area for any more testing and tuning. So it will be next year before more info/tricks can be worked out in the colder climates.
