Do you wear a suit when you drive your Ram?

Surfin' With a Dog

The union non-union thread got me curious. What category do you fit in with your type of work. Ya already know I'm a happy blue collar wage earner.

I should be voting blue collar, but I've been forced out of the blue collar job into a salaried job with the administrators, although I'm a doer, not an watcher.

I don't think many of us consider ourselves amatures at our jobs, so I think we're all professionals.

Stir stir stir the pot

make a feller scream

break his toes

and plug his nose

and throw him in the stream!

So ya see Doc,

If I could write music I'd be a professional!

As it is I'm just the elevator man. :p

3 outa 4 ain't bad..

I reckon I fit 3 out of 4 of your catagories. I drive a truck, which is pretty much blue collar. I'm an owner operator, which makes me self-employed. And I've been doing it long enough without screwing up too bad that I consider myself a professional.

new forum for the self empolyed?

I am a self employed heater peddler ;)

anyone purchase electic heaters? :)

I'm a student... . and currently not employed at all.

My last real job was as a Diesel Injection Technician at the Northwest's best pump shop.

I thought about a retired category. Then I thought when I retire, I'll still be an elevator service man and therefore I'll still be blue collar. Just not as tired.

Of course we're all professional at what we do. I considered Professional as a job category to be lawyers, doctors, vets, stock brokers, etc. Those who generally don't have blue collar people working directly under them like white collar management and executive positions.

I could see how an owner operator could fall into professional or self employed. That one could be disected for awhile.

A student would fall into the category of his major. I've been going to Stetson University of Law for almost 20 yrs. But I'm still just the elevator man.
