What Might Cause Blue Smoke In My 12v?

possibly your valve stem seals are going bad, piston rings may be bad, but that is also normally associated with high blow by, possibly the seal in the turbo for the turbine side is bad, allowing oil into the exhaust. check your turbo. how many miles are on your truck?? how blue is the smoke? does the smoke smell like there is oil being burnt in the exhaust?? lots of things to consider.

It's not likely oil causing the smoke, probably something simpler like pulling air in the fuel line which causes poor atomization & smoke.

Check the fuel heater for leaks, when they go bad the electrical connector leaks. And and service the prefilter if you never have. : Fuel Pre-Filter Cleaning on Ram/Cummins
